In ‘Hi Who Are You?’ Lukas Malte Hoffmann brings together sculptures, videos, and drawings rooted in a working period that stretched over the last two years. The works on show all connect to processes of ‘recognition’.  
Recognition can be internal, a cognitive task performed on the fly, without even noticing. It can also be a social tool, a tool of power, to recognise or not. Also when recognition is performed through technology the two former come together, the cognitive and the social, as existing structures are built into technology. 
What happens if the ability to recognise oneself and if one’s surrounding is greatly challenged, e.g.. in the aftermath of an accident ? How do we speak to the violent power of recognition? What if recognition is performed by technology one does not recognise?
